Why they Matter Today

The Navajo Code Talkers matter today by being the first lanuguage not being broken while they helped America push forward into the war. After the Nazi's have been defeat the US still needed to have Japan surrender and be done with the War. After the bombs the US have retreated back to the nation, when Japan surrendered. "The Navajo language had become the basis of a new code, and they were going to train to become code talkers. It was hard to see it then, but Begay and his fellow Navajo would help turn the tides of war and save countless lives." (Leal, 2019)

The Navajo Code Talkers conveyed message thorough a telecom radio to speak between each other so the Japanese could not figure out what they were saynig in order to defeat the Japanese army to win WWII. "Navajo code talkers could send several messages within seconds. This made the Navajo code talker an important part of any Marine unit." (Leal, 2019) The Navajo Code Talkers fought for their lives in order to have America's freedom to the people and for their country just like any other branch in the military.
